H-1B Cap Reached

Yet another year when USCIS received enough H-1B Petitions in the first five days of April to exhaust the number of visas allotted for the next fiscal year.  As expected, USCIS will resort to a lottery to decide the fate of the US high-skilled workforce, predominately in the tech sector. Before the lottery can take place; however, USCIS must complete the intake process to enter the yet to be determined number of petitions into the lottery system. The Service will first select 20,000 advanced-degree petitions at random, and then enter the remaining petitions into the game of chance that is US immigration.
